It's been too long since I did something like this and I am enjoying it.

Here's the driver compartment enclosed and the start of the rounded back.
I was going to get all complicated with the "framing" for the rounded back until I realized I only needed to glue something to the floor and only worry about alignment along the curve itself. Made it much easier. I did round the outer end of each "frame" to ensure max contact with the walls. That was my bright thought for the day, so I can quit now ...

Re: John's RNAS Rolls Royce Armoured Car
OK, first task was to curve the back piece so a handy paint bottle, a clamp, and some hot-water got it started ...
And with a bit of work, it's glued on and resting peacefully ....
Going to let it sit a bit, apply some filler, then sand it smooth. Meanwhile, I see that I forgot to open the little windows in the doors. But more importantly, there is an angled piece to fit at the back and to do that I must start on the floor of the rear compartment, so that'll be next up .... The floor is wood, so we'll shift mediums for a bit ...

Its still most excellent work.
I'm sure you can cope with the door vision slits.
I do hate it when I get so far on something and realize I missed something like that.

Re: John's RNAS Rolls Royce Armoured Car
Vision ports are cut, I'll just put some strip over top later. The rear "boat-tail" (really doors) has been added and the wood floor built.
The wood floor has been removed and I am sanding. The read boat-tail didn't go on as well as planned and some other flaws need addressing, so right now it is filler and sanding. I see time is moving along, so I better start thinking about things I can work in parallel.

Re: John's RNAS Rolls Royce Armoured Car
Roof went on today; needs the edges trimmed up.
Probably spend tomorrow sanding things smooth; probably a coat of primer to help me see things. The cargo bed & such will have to be built on later unless I get a good idea soon. Guess I ought to start the turret and wire wheels ...

Re: John's RNAS Rolls Royce Armoured Car
Sorry, Alan, I started the turret ....
The body got a primer coat then I sanded away to bring down the high spots, added a bit of filler in low spots and will hit it again tomorrow.
Meanwhile, using the Airfix Annual as a guide, I started on the turret .... I hard part here is that I really need to flatten out the turret sides so I can make the scallop-y cut even. The top will be easier as I should be able to lay flat pieces down, glue, then trim to fit.
Wheels are next, probably test drive one tomorrow -- if it goes west, it'll become a spare or inner wheel on the back ...
