Martin's Zerstorer Pfeil *** finished! ***

A simple GB, convert one thing to another - any subject, any scale, any era, any method, but ending up with a different variant, than what the bits provide for in the box.

The back surgery has healed up without scarring I see. Nice work.

And now it's definitely in need of some mottling:

Spiralschnauze nearly finished and masking removed from leading edges.

Mottling mostly done, spinner tidied up and RVD band unmasked. I think its beginning to look more plausible:

It's so realistic that it's flown away. No pics :)

Very plausible indeed. Did you do that spinner spiral by hand? Well done.

That's looking good, especially after all the Pfeiling and Pfilling.

Thanks, all. After some decalling, detail painting and klearing, we're here:

Need the JG3 and IV Gruppe markings, then another coat of klear and a wash, followed by a scoosh of matt varnish, and we're onto the final detailing.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. Work has been manic.

To do the spiral, I undercoated the spinner in white, then cut out and applied a spiral of decreasing radius from masking tape, using a French curve as a guide for the cutting. It took me a couple of attempts to find a good section of French curve to use, but it only took 10 minutes in all to make and apply the mask. Then some RLM70 was brushed on, the mask removed and the white touched up in a couple of places. Simple as!

Decalling finished, followed by washing panel lines.

I will get a coat of matt varnish on tomorrow, then I just need to do some weathering and finish off the detailing.
