Splash goes from Belfast to Southampton

A simple GB, convert one thing to another - any subject, any scale, any era, any method, but ending up with a different variant, than what the bits provide for in the box.
GB runs 16th April to 29th May and your host is Martin R.

Paul came up with a great idea of using hair to rig the Walrus, as my hair is short, grey and thin I thought what's to loose apart from my sanity :-D so what do you think carry on or remove it?

I'd carry on with it, at that scale it'll give the right impression for sure
Best wishes

Seeing as you're using hair, shouldn't that be 'Wigging the Walrus'? :ha:

As for Iggies rather dubious suggestion, that wouldn't so much be 'Model Making' as 'Model Merkin'

True :ha: :ha: :ha:

It sounded like a good idea at the time

All I need to do now is paint the roundals and mask the canopy frames :ha: and scratch build the wheels and U/C

I still have loads to do on this build, but HMS Southampton is starting to look better now she has had a coat of anti-foul red on her hull, tomorrow I will start the task of drilling out all the scuttles, before adding the camouflage.

This will defiantly be a GB DNF as I have too much to do before Sunday and I don't want to rush it.

Today another HMS Belfast kit win from eBay arrived in the post, so I might try and improve the little Walrus by building another but using printed card wings instead of the over thick plastic wings as supplied in the kit.

After all that hard work I agree you shouldn't rush it, she looks too good for that!.
