Our 2nd "Lesser Represented Countries" GB with a slight change to allow any subject, not just aircraft. You must sign up for the specific country and there are no duplicates in this GB and a modeler cannot do the same country(s) as in the previous one.
GB runs 16th May - 19th June and your host is FredK.

Our 2nd GB to encourage modelers to seek out aircraft/markings from lesser represented countries -- this time expanded to any subject, not just aircraft.

This GB started from a thread here.

The GB runs from 16th May to 19th June; your GBL is FredK who will fill in any other info.

This is the idea, with a few changes from the last one;

1. This is a GB to acknowledge the small or lesser represented countries - extra kudos for the more obscure they are.

2. The main six [UK, USA, Germany, Japan, France, Soviet Union but allowing pre & post CCCP Russia)] are excluded as they are usually well covered by us in models.

3. One model to represent a smaller country, perhaps two if they changed markings during their history, eg Finland - Blue swastika to 1944, blue/white circles -1944 to now.

4. Also to be included British Commonwealth countries with their special symbol. eg Australia with a red Roo, but not an RAF type roundel.

5. Any model subject as long as it can be clearly seen to be of that lesser represented country.

6. Only one modeller and one model per country - a modeller can do as many countries he/she chooses but no-one else may do that same country then. As there are around 160 counties and only a few of us there are plenty to go around. The idea is to do as many of these lesser known countries as we can.

7. And here's the twist for this one; you can't do the same country as you did last time. eg fredk can't do Czech, Finland or North Vietnam.

Here is the players list, as of May 28th

One week to go chaps.
Please check in with a short posting here or by starting your build thread.
I'll drop a few PMs to those I think may have forgotten this.

We had some really obscure countries last time. Can we find some more? Or obscure subjects for the better known places?
Remember; any type of model - car, ship, tank, figure, but no whiffs

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

For this build I fancied something quick and easy...

...so I've gone for not one, but two SU-27B Flankers

Both will be just past the end of the Cold War era (1991). The Kazakhstan aircraft will be in the traditional Blue/Blue/more Blue and some grey camo, whilst the Belarus Aircraft will be the less seen Green/Grey camo.

I'm not expecting to get these finished but I might get the fuselages painted and decaled in the time frame...maybe...I hope :-D

Cheers

I have a Matchbox BAC Strikemaster waiting to go. I'm hoping the original decals for the RNZAF will still be okay. They look fine. The interior will get a couple of Pavla resin seats to make it a little more interesting.

This will be tight for me as I will be away for 10 days of the GB but I'm still in with Rhodesian contribution.

Still in for this. I had intended to do an Eduard 1/48 Nieuport 17, but on opening the box again just the other day, I found that I had already started it by painting the upper wing surfaces and cockpit interior  Ho hum! I also have a rather natty Belgian F-16 livery for the same squadron, so that's what I'll be doing.

A ZLIN XII in Italian Civilian Markings, could be accepted?
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

I have my SWORD T-33 and a set of LF Models decals. Never built a SWORD kit so that will be an interesting exercise. Decision is: do I go for the 'top surface' cammo style or all over NMF. Trouble is there are very, very few reference photos - the photos of 'cammo' T-33s appear to be in some form of aircraft park rather than in an operational environment.
