Sign-up and Chat

Our 2nd "Lesser Represented Countries" GB with a slight change to allow any subject, not just aircraft. You must sign up for the specific country and there are no duplicates in this GB and a modeler cannot do the same country(s) as in the previous one.
GB runs 16th May - 19th June and your host is FredK.

I agree the pics of 711 are definitely at a museum. All the other pics I see show them in NMF but I say if you want to do it in camo, go for it.

I'm building the Smer MS406 in Finnish markings. Hopefully it will restore my mojo which has gone missing recently.

I'm a bit late for this, plus I have GB's chocker until November but having read (correction reading) Phoenix Squadron by Rowland White (Vulcan 607 fame), I wondered if I could join in with Belize?. Although this is my only connection to the country it seems quite a complicated story, especially concerning the Guatemalans and the Ark Royal.
Sorry to ramble, just wanted to explain my choice. Looking at the list of choices, I have a B-N Islander which I can do/convert, and a UH-1 as well.
Okay, novel over!! :ha:
P.S. got to find/make some interesting markings.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I've been digging through the stash and although I have plenty of choie as far as Israel goes I'm having second thoughts as I have done a couple of Israeli builds this year (Two Spitfires). Would it be ok to go with another country?, Say Austria (Bird dog) Argentina (Pucara) or Saudi (Lightning T55)? I'm fine if it's a no.

All the best.

Greg

I'd like to bag Jordan and Iraq please - I picked up a nice Italeri 1/48 Mirage F.1 in the kit swap at Telford last year that has a large decal sheet with a Jordanian option, and I also have an sheet of Linden Hill Iraqi Fighters decals in 1/72 that I will find a suitable subject for - probably a MiG of some description.

Cheers
Al.

No problem Greg. I'll bracket them you till you decide.

If it's not too late, I'll throw my hat into the ring for this GB. I have an old red stripe boxing of the Petlyakov Pe2. Assuming the decals hold up, I will do it in Czechoslovakian markings.

Cheers

Welcome to the GB Springy.
Czechoslovakia is all yours.
A good classic kit. One of Airfix's finest I think. One that I always liked.

The name to country list in the first posting has been up-dated and sorted.
Please see the extra note written on the end

Many thanks. All three of my choices are now dug out of the stash. I just need to dig out the Austrian decals.

All the best.

Greg

13:45 my local time.

Not long to go till this starts for me.

I don't know if any players are east of Europe, if you are you'll have started before the rest of us.
As for me and most of the rest; start as soon as the clock passes midnight your local time.

If I remember I'll fire a starting pistol after midnight my time.

In the meantime I really need to sort out what kit I'll be doing. First choice was too complicated for me right now.
