Hi Gents!
If nobody objects I thought I'd start a thread here to document my cold war builds. This is partly to keep them together so I can keep track and partly to and a bit more activity to the SIG forum (Let me know If it's not allowed).
WIP:
1/72 Super Etendard.
1/72 Challanger mk.I
1/72 MIG-27
Built:
TBA
To do (for SMW 2016):
1/72 SU-27
1/72 Tornado GR.1
1/72 F/A-18A
Cheers
Stuart

Here's a box shot of the Challenger - I'll add some sprue shots later.
Decal Options Give 1988 - need to find out if that's ok for 1991.
Cheers

The Etendard has had a coat of paint...
(Humbrol 1 - closest match I could find - thinned with enamel thinners)
Trying out a different painting method on this - dabbing with a small round brush rather than the normal flat. The idea is to vary the amount of depth/opacity in the paint.

You mean it's all brush-painted and sort of daubed on making it darker in places so it has a sea-worn faded appearance?

Yeah I've meaning to have a go at small scale armor for a while - I'm looking forward to it but it'll be a bit of a learning curve me thinks.

I like the look of that paint method Stu. It's rather like airbrush pre-shading but manually applied. It'll be very interesting to see how it goes.
