Did a bit more work on this today - I attached a few little fiddly bits and filled the gap at the back of the canopy.

I've also started on the dark Grey.

I'm still experimenting with my dab painting technique - it's a bit of learning curve, the paint's quite thin and I'm trying to see if I can do it freehand as I hate masking camo - we'll see.

Cheers and thanks for looking!

No progress this week as it's been stupidly busy - hopefully I'll get some bench time next week.

Nice one Stuart. Masking camo or anything for that matter is a pain and is the real downside to using an airbrush IMHO. I would have resorted to blu tak for this one if a hard edge is required.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Not much progress as bench time has been rather lacking recently, but I had added a bit more paint...

(It's still wet - hence the shine)

Still really enjoying this kit.

yeah I hate masking, it's my least liked modelling job. I normally freehand if I can and it's ok-ish on this build - I did think of blue-tak but I'm not sure how that would work with a brush.

Cheers

It might work but TBH with a brush I'd freehand it, I don't think masking the camo would be worth the pain! Your technique seems to be working fine as the scheme is looking good from here.

Thanks Shaun!

Yes I think I agree - I'm going to mask the demarcation line and maybe pencil in some guides but other than that I'm going to freehand it - life's too short!

Just so you know I've not forgotten this, just been very busy of late. I've done both greys and painted the U/C bays - Radomes etc. to follow...

Hi Gents,

I've almost finished the painting and should be ready for a clear coat soon and the decals...

Image

All the painting was done by dabbing with a no.4 round tipped brush. The black Radome was the only bit done with a flat brush, which was a number 3.

I'm hoping this'll give it a more interesting appearance.

All the odds and sods are under way. The U/C is finished other than a wash, the tank is almost done and the Exocet is coming along - big b'stard isn't it!

Image

All these bits have mostly been painted using make-up sponges which I hope will give a nice flat finish.

More soon

Cheers

Nicely done Stuart and the Exocet is certainly a size.
