2016 SMW Builds

Post by Dazzled »

This thread will be to list what we have ready built/part built, what we have in the stash and what we'd each like to build. If we keep it in one place then it'll be easier for me to compile a list and cross-reference with areas of the map.

It'd be nice to have more than we need naturally :)

So, me first:

Built:

1/72 Mig-29A Yugoslavia
1/72 Kamov Ka-50 Hokum USSR (based in Uzbekistan)
1/700 USS Ticonderoga CG-47 (waterline)

Part built:

1/72nd Mig-25 Foxbat (Ukraine)

In stash:

1/350 USS Florida (ridiculously easy to backdate to earlier Ohio class)
1/350 Typhoon class Ballistic Missile Submarine
1/72 Mig-29 (Lot's of possibilities)
1/72 Mig-23 ML/MLA (again a number of possibilities within the list)
1/72 SS-25 Sickle with Topol launcher (Russia)

This is rather looking like my build list. Should keep me out of the pub for an afternoon

Other willing victims volunteers so far include:

chrism:
1/720 USS Theodore Roosevelt (depending on kit acquisition)

Kitaholic:
1/144 Tu-160 Blackjack
1/72, 1/76 Armour

planecrazyman:
1/72 f-4f (Germany)
1/72 J-35j Draken (Sweden)
1/72 Su-24 Fencer (Kazakhstan. ........ please ;-) )
1/72 Mig-23MS (Poland)
1/72 Mirage F1 (Greece)

Sir T::
1/72 Tornado GR.1 (RAF)
1/72 Super Etendard (France)
1/72 F-117(USA)
1/72 Su-27 (Belarus)
1/72, 1/76 armour.

Not bad for a couple of days. Who'd like to add to the list?

How about some of the European powers or the former Warsaw Pact nations?

And some models/suggestions for US equipment.

Time to look to the stashes

Definitely be interested in the Czech Mig-29UB and the Fencer particularly (if I'm not being too cheeky) if you can give it Kazakhstan markings. It's a big country and a Fencer would go a long way towards filling it up. The Polish Mig-23 might be good too as would the Greek Mirage so long as it fits in the time frame 8-) .

No hopefully about it - happy to help.

So far I have in the stash/wip...

Super Etendard (France)
Tornado GR.1 (UK)
F/A-18A (USA)
Mig-27 (Russia or if I can get the decals from Hannants - Kazakhstan)

But I'm happy to build others (I'll have to get them) to fill gaps where needed - even happy to have a stab at some of those nice looking Revell 1/72 Armour kits.

Cheers

Stuart

I'd be happy to do an Belarus SU-27 if you like.

Lindin hill on Hannants seem to do a good range of post soviet decals for the 'stans.

As for the US - An F-117A is a must, USAFE F-15E, F-16? Armour? How about a Bradley?

Forgot to mention, I had to omit some countries for practical reasons and Finland ended up on the cutting room floor.

I say "go for it" Stu, particularly the Belarus Su-27 and F-117. That Super Etendard would help with Europe too. It'll add some variety.....even if it is French  .

As for the small scale armour, the more the better, particularly in a variety of national schemes. Perhaps you could liaise with Kitaholic about this.

Can do a Polish MiG-29 and maybe a Czech Su-22 if you need them. Almost built are an Alfa class, Victor III class, Akula class and an LA class if needed. Also got the Be-12 completed if it's not too big, plus an SR-71

Is there a decent modern kit of an SU-27? By modern I mean one the fits and has recessed panel lines.

I do love old kits but I think I've built too many this year and need a change.

Well that's good - Shane has an F-117A that would look great.

Is it worth having a list of country's we need to cover? With maybe a breakdown of who's doing/got what types under them?

That way we can see the gaps?
