Display Progress

Post by Dazzled »

So far...

About half the map done. It really didn't take too long once I'd figured out a method. The tape names are only there for guidance. I intend to place small flags with country names to indicate nations on the finished display and, of course, the whole thing will be sitting on a blue sheet. Which reminds me....time for eBay.

A couple more sessions has seen Europe completed.

Cutting out the coastlines with a scalpel was quite a task. Don't get me started on Norway either. I don't know what Slartibardfast saw in Fjords ;-)

North America next.

8-) Thanks iggie :)

And with amazingly good timing the new display sheet has turned up.

And, as North America didn't take too long to create, I decided to try for a small preview.

It takes up half my lounge!!

Next thing to do is get some materials and make a backboard. I also need some low-tack double sided tape and a whole heap of small flags.

More progress soon.

Are you going to build a wall? Or an Iron Curtain?

Just flags in each country, doubling up with Soviet Union flags for the countries that were created or became independent at the end of the Cold War.

If you are printing own and need to source as yet the flags, there are a couple of good sites with national flags on that I have saved down and printed off from in past. Think they are saved on my home laptop. Can look if needed Monday evening.
