Colour conundrum time - instructions say "paint deck green" and I bought WEM's Deck Green. Trouble is, that green is a lot darker than the one in this colour photo:

The WEM Deck Green is the same as the green on the forecastle in the photo, rather than the green of the rest of the decks. However, the instructions also tell me to paint the forecastle black. So, is this photo, which is post-reconstruction, an accurate reference for the deck colours of the Tiger pre-reconstruction, or should I go with WEM's Deck Green with black forecastle?

I decided to go with the WEM Deck Green overall. The rest of the ship is Xtracrylix Barley Grey, a close enough light grey for this job.

Some progress with PE and fiddly bits, and I am at the point where I can start to begin final assembly. Here's another 'put the bits on without glue so I can see what it'll look like' photo:

I am certainly aiming to get this finished this weekend, but it would be a tight run thing. We'll see.

This is as far as I got with the PE - too much, too fiddly and too time consuming.

Makes a big difference though!

I'll carry on with this one, but I will now be concentrating on my HMS Trafalgar for Telford.

Cheers, James. I'm not 100% happy with it, but then it is really a practice piece, having never used so much PE before.

Seriously Paul this looks pretty great. I got my HMS Tiger/Blake from an old school chum and had a go many years ago at rebuilding the masts out of stretched sprue and whatnot. This almost inspires me to dig it out of storage and rehabilitate it.
