I have a book which contains pictures of each class of ship in the Royal Navies during WW1. Also there is a section on paint mixes and the evolution of camo schemes.

For HMS Hood, the Hood Association is the best source on the internet. It includes kit reviews and corrections to improve the kits.

This page also discusses some of the colour schemes of major RN warships after WW1 and into early WWII.

Ship Side Grey.

19.11.14 Hulls and weather work of all HM ships, in home waters to be painted light grey except torpedo craft. Mixture to be 1 part black to 20 parts white by weight.

6.4.15 Destroyers to be dead black but masts to become very light grey.

1.8.16 HM ships and armed patrol yachts to be painted grey as above. Destroyers remain dead black as above.

4.8.16 Upper works 0f destroyers and leaders painted grey.

19.4.17 All top masts paint grey 1/black to 250/white by weight. By order C in C Grand Fleet.

There some other small and short lived changes like painted bow waves.
