This GB started from a thread here.

The GB runs 4 June - 17 July (6 weeks), and your GBL is Paul Bradley who will fill in any other info.

Looking forward to this GB but I'm still undecided about my choice of kit to build. I'm also hampered by being away for two weeks of the six.....so I think that will rule out the Corvette in 1/72!
Best wishes

I'm looking to backdate the Airfix 1:600 HMS Warspite from the WWII version, to look as she would have looked during the Battle of Jutland.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I'm going to build the small version of the Airfix HMS Victory, if I have time I will follow that up with the Mary Rose.

I'm going to make a start on my HMS Canada in 1/700. Not having built a ship before it all going to be a bit of a learning curve. It resin and have some generic etch and brass barrels and plan to do some rigging too as well as a base.

I look forward to watching this as I need to see how you go about the rigging and base.

When you say rigging am I right in thinking you are talking about all the flag signalling lines?

Some neat builds in prospect already!

I'll be tackling the Frog 1/415 HMS Tiger, with White Ensign PE. I haven't built a ship for about 30 years, so this should be interesting!

Yeah at least an attempt to represent most of the wires between the masts. I don't think I'll attempt the cage aerials though!

There is photoetch to assist with those -- I can dig up manufacturer & part# from somewhere if you are interested.

I will be trying 3, with a 4th possible -- and I'll be happy if I just finish 1-2 and get a good start on the others.
Airfix Hotspur, Crete. Basically OOB.
Airfix Campbeltown, Battle of the Atlantic. Minor hack.
Airfix Hotspur, as Black Swan, Battle of the Atlantic. Major hack.
Airfix Campbeltown, St Nazaire. Major hack.
I have White Ensign photoetch sets to supplement all the kits.

I'll be trying to find time to get organized this week, it won't be pretty.

After a visit to the local model shop (also known as the Loft), I have retrieved the HMS Illustrious kit. Although there is a lot of plastic, and at least one sprue with a lot of small parts, I'm going ahead with this one! . Whether I end up regretting it and declaring a DNF remains to be seen, BUT, I've had the kit for a few years and if I don't build it now (or at least start), it may never get done.
Quoting a poster at the school where I work:- 'I know it can't possibly work but I want to do it anyway!!'.
(The poster has a mouse hanging Tom Cruise Mission Impossible style over a mouse trap with a bit of cheese on it).
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Ambitious, but it'll be interesting to see two versions of each kit on the go.

Good man! One of the ideas behind GBs is to spur us to start a kit we might not otherwise build. I look forward to seeing what you do with it, as I have one of these in the stash as well.

Just found the Italeri 1/720 scale HMS Hood in the stash, very tempted.
