HMS Campbeltown (I42) at St Nazaire

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

This will be a major conversion of the Airfix 1/600 Campbeltown, into the form in which she made history in the raid on St Nazaire.
This is one of several projects I am doing for the CBK SIG display at SMW 2016, although it should be in a diorama but I am worried that I haven't the time and will attempt this as a humble replacement. It is my lowest priority so it might not move much during this GB.

The conversion will be guided by the Anatomy of the Ship book on Campbeltown. I also have the White Ensign RN DD 1 & 2 photoetch sets, made for the Airfix 1/600 WW2 destroyer series.

More on this later, if/when I really get to work on it.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

I'd love to see this built, one of the best episodes of daring-do of World War 2 I reckon
Best wishes
