Here's how it's looking at the moment

Got the wheelhouse figure in

Must have fixed the floor too low. He can't quite see out :???:

My scratched fire extinguisher

Where I'll probably fix the other two crew

I'll give it some weathering, but the matt varnish will have to wait. It's not pay week 'til next Wednesday

Looking good. It's very clean for a hard working landing craft though! :ha:

Very good, Nigel.

The wheelhouse guy looks as if he's taking a leak... ;-)

Its the new MOD armoured Portable Loo, due to EU regulations every beachhead under assault has to have them :-D

Excellent work on the LCM and figures all of those little extras have made a big difference.

That's 'cos the two other crew members have spruced 'er up a bit special like, as a surprise for short-a**e in the loo when 'e gets out like :-D
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

All your additional bits n bobs look great. I too (now) would add a bit of wear and age, but that is as I was told for a long time, a matter of preference on how you like your models to look. (I always used to want a nice clean look, and nothing but that... but now I have mastered "grime and use" like to use it on some but still not all models, depending on images I can find online etc.

Bottom line: It is your model and what you are happy with is what matters.

However if you were to add a very thinned and greeny/grey wash to the areas that would be underwater you will achieve the effect that the areas underwater would have if the vessel came ashore and was not hosed down which is what happens to anyone who has a yacht today that is in water some of year and them comes out and has its bottom hosed and spray washed, add to that some rustiness in some of the corners and where anchors and or chains run and stand

PS: I too did look at that poor man and think he was stood there in full stream in the heads (the nautical word for lavatory) ... before I saw the comment Paul had made

...and if it is post-invasion, don't forget the 'diced carrots and peas' in the deck well - June 5th was a rough night.....

"Diced carrots & peas" what's this navy coming too, when I was a young sailor it would have been Hardtack biscuits and weevil's if you were lucky

Wow. Thanks for all the comments, it's much appreciated.
After posting the last set of pics I set about giving the craft a wash with a mix of burnt sienna, burnt umber, and a dash of black, oil paints.

 Hated it. That's why I haven't really given all of it a wash, but now, two days later, it's dried, doesn't look as shiny, and I'm getting the love back :) I will try and redeem it from here, and have her seaworthy by the end of the group build on Sunday

That looks good - and had a used look to it - keep at it

Rub a cotton bud thing or a wide flat brush in some of your oil thinners and move it around a bit - and then use a different colour wash on some of the inner areas that might not get so much water exposure but need general muck not rusty and a different colour again on what was in water - it is hard to explain what to do - just keep going - but like driving a car it just clicks after a while

It's starting to get that 'lived in' look now; lots of vertical streaking will bring it out even better
Nice work!

To my mind, the key to weathering is less is more - it needs to be subtle. As Chris says, move it around, and remove some of the obvious runs and it'll be great.
