Re: Previously-built Models
Hi,
Here are a few of my Previous Corsair Builds.
First up the Revell New Tool F4U-1a in 1/72
This kit gets a bit of a hard time as being tricky as its quite modular with insets for the guns and the wingtips are seperate. I found it built up nicely as long as you know what your doing.
Here is the 1/72 Academy F4U-1a in RNZAF markings I built this for a GB here last year..Great kit a bit less detailed than the Revell but with a bit of work a nice result is possible.
Finally here is the 1/72 High Planes F4U-5N in USMC night fighter colours. I built this for a GB somewhere else. Earlier this year. High Planes are a limited run kit so they need a bit more work than normal.
Here is the base kit..
and the finished build
If Accuracy is your thing then It's the best late model Corsair in 1/72.
I like the Corsair it had a long career was fast, rugged and well regarded by its pilots and survived well into the jet age as it was good at what it did.
Cheers

Re: Previously-built Models
The Corsair is one of my favourite aircraft, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with. If I had the time I'd have been in with the 1/48th Airfix (Arii) F4U together wuth a QB engine and the Airwaves etched set. Anyhoo, here are some of mine (all 1/72):
Revell new tool F4U-1A
FROG F4U-1D (Corsair Mk IV)
Hobbyboss F4U-4 (Corsair MkV)
Academy F4U-1A (Corsair Mk II)

Martin
