Re: Sign-up and Chat
Hi all, looking forward to seeing all the builds on this GB!
I'm going to choose from a Hasegawa combo set or a Revell F4u (thanks to Gadfly) that I have just ordered after seeing his post in the completed builds!!!

Don't blame me... BTW that's An aftermarket scheme in my build the standard scheme is 'Pappy' Boyington's Lucy Belle.. Which is ok... I might have some spare Decals if you want some for a USMC F4U-1A..iggie wrote: I'm going to choose from a Hasegawa combo set or a Revell F4u (thanks to Gadfly) that I have just ordered after seeing his post in the completed builds!!!

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I have a bit of a problem with this one. I retrieved my Revell F4U from the loft and it appears to be started. I have fixed the seat, control column and IP to the cockpit base/tub, as well as the engine and prop shaft to the bulkhead. Other than that she is unstarted. Should I pull out of this one or keep going?.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I am planning on doing three Corsairs for this build:
#1: Revell of Germany F4U-1A Corsair in 1/72 with marking for "Lonesome Polecat" flown by Lt.Jg Merl Davenport with VF-17 at Bouganville in 1944.
#2: Revell of Germany F4U-4B Corsair in 1/72 flown by VF-653, USS valley Forge, 1951-52 Korean Waters.
#3 Tamiya FG-1D Corsair in 1/72 flown by VF-822 at NAS New Orleans in 1950. (Naval Reserve colors)

On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Thanks David, it's the only Corsair I have (unless an A-7 counts!?), so I thought I would be scuppered!. Just for clarification, here are the parts I mentioned...lancfan wrote:It's fine Mark, enjoy the build and the GB.MarkyM607 wrote:I have a bit of a problem with this one. Jeff checking to the G.B. While one other is being built so far, my entry will be the Tamiya 1/48th F4U-1/2 "Birdcage" Corsair. Tamiya=Mojo Builder.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I have to apologise for my lack of activity in this GB. I didn't take into account that June would be workmageddon. My school is having a teaching accreditation inspection on Tuesday and as a department head I have spent the last month making sure all our documentation is prepared for auditing....on top of the regular Term 2 hell of exam setting, marking and report writing. Oh, and my wife has had serious health problems so I have had to pick up a much larger than usual share of parenting duties. It's been so much fun.
I'm not here to whine, but when I lay it out like that it does remind me what an unpleasant month it has been and why hobby time has been negligible. Plus I've been trying to run my own GB on the Biggles forum so that's where any scraps of build time have gone.
After Tuesday's inspection I will see if I can hammer away at the Corsairs for an evening or two....it might become something of a blitz. Right now it's Schrodinger's Corsair, in a superposed state of completed and DNF. If I open the box up on Wednesday I will collapse the waveform...

VV,
Real life takes precedence, so don't worry about it. I hope work gets less stressful soon.
