iggie's coarse-air ***Fresh out of the Factory***

Post by iggie »

Just arrived fresh from the supplier, the new-tool Revell 1/72 F4-U Corsair, which is going to get built OOB with the kit supplied markings, simply because it looks nice enough on the box to not bother doing anything else :-D

The post war reserve markings look like a good option.

Looks like the new tool f4u-1a kit upgraded a bit...

Cheers

That looks like a huge improvement over their old one. Looking forward to seeing it go together.

Harsh......but true as far as any real modelling is concerned

The 1:1 scale narrow boat project has claimed most of my free time of late so I'm running behind with this GB and the Royal Navy GB too! And we're away for holidays next week :???:

Always lots of diversions at this time of year. My students have a final exam next Saturday, so that'll slow me down.

Ok, we have a cockpit....and it's inside a fuselage too!
Actually I have now got a complete airframe, with paint on it but I have yet to photograph it
I lost the compass/sight to the carpet monster, but a moulding pip from the clear sprue provided a near enough replacement
In the end I went with Tamiya 'Blue' :-D
More tomorrow 8-)

Hmmm, I seem to have not taken as many progress shots as I thought I had!

Anyway, this is where we're at as of last night; one coat of Revell 'Blue' which was way too light, so two coats of Tamiya 'Blue' on top, and looking a bit more like it.
She's up on her legs, so machine guns to add, one or two bits of touching up and then decals....I'm hopeful of a finish tonight as we are on holidays then! :-D
