This is a single-type GB of the P-51 North American Mustang -- and any mark including prototype or developmental, or that served with any air force in any theatre of operations or war .... the only exclusions are WhIf's. Any kit, any scale, any variant, any markings.

This GB started from threads here and here.

The GB runs from July 2nd to 30th; your GBL is iggie who will fill in any other info.

My desk is fairly clear so I reckon I might try a two day blitz on a 1/72 P51A.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

My kits (and decals) are ready and waiting but I just have to finish my F4U Corsair this weekend before I start.

I also have a ship going, but there's quite a bit of downtime between stages at the moment, so I can start bright and early on Saturday morning. I also have a long holiday weekend, so I'm hoping for some good bench time. Both kits are pretty simple, so I ought to be able to baby blitz them over a week or so - I hope!

Can't find my NT Airfix 51D but I've found a Revell 51B instead. How I hate the colour coding by Revell. Why do they insist on 20% of this and 40% of that with another 30% of something else adding 10% of I've never heard of

I know it says P-51 and all, but nobody explicitly said no just yet, so I must ask - Are twin-mustangs allowed?

As far as I am aware, the twins were formed using standard P51 fuselages and wings (mostly  ), so I have no objection whatsoever to you doing a twin if you wish! 8-)

I'm giving some serious thought to doing another Mustang movie star - only this time in the markings of the other side!

It's a toss-up between a P-51A used in A Guy Named Joe:

or the Planes of Fame P-51A used in the film Aces: Iron Eagle 3:

Decisions, decisions....! :ha:

And as I am now aware (thanks Lancfan for the diplomatic 'putting straight' 8-) ), the P-82 was in fact somewhat different to the P51, but for the purposes of this GB, as the common name was Twin Mustang then we will allow them
