Toby's Chinese based 51B. FINISHED

Post by TobyC »

Seems a fairly straight forward build and I'll be doing it in the markings of the plane flown by Col. "Tex" Hill of USAAF
26 FS, 51 FG based in Kunming China 1945

Nice choice Toby and a good looking scheme as well!
Best wishes

The cockpit is nicely detailed and goes together well. I didn't bother adding lap belts as they wont be seen anyway.

Most of the painting done. Olive drab on top and USAAF light grey underneath but my masking went a bit askew on the rear flanks of the fuselage so will have to redo them....blast

+1 on that interior, you've got to do the canopy open to show that off!

I agree about the open cockpit but I think it might be too late!

It is also there's not a viable option available. You'll just have to peer through the glass ;-)

Now that's looking good!
Is that a panel line wash or pre-shading?
Best wishes

I use a black/dark grey felt nib pen and run it along the lines. I then let it dry for about 30 seconds and wipe off very quickly with a damp piece of tissue paper.

Sweet!

Very nicely done, and very menacing with the shark mouth!

Nice that. I like the Revell 'stang for the way it goes together & looks good when done, as yours surely does. :)
