Re: A patchy effort from PT
That's looking great PT.....Could this be our first finish I wonder?
Best wishes
Jim

Re: A patchy effort from PT
probably not, I still have to figure out how I'll do the decals. I'm looking up online for other kits that I could use the decals from before resorting to "Frankencodes"

I can't remember seeing a Mustang in desert camo, it looks good.

Re: A patchy effort from PT
There were only 5 apparently. 225 Sqn. used spits and hurri's for recon, but these didn't have the necessary range, so 225 borrowed the Mustangs from the US 12th AF and painted them to match the spits and hurri's. IIRC they were only used for about 4-5 months. (more's the pity!)

Re: A patchy effort from PT
Thanks for the offer EJ, I've used the RAF option codes, cut up to make B-WU. The trouble is that I only got one side out of them....now I have to buy another kit to do the other side!... oh, the sacrifices I make
Haven't decided yet if I'll do the second one as the kits US option or do James McLachlans all-green intruder 'stang.
I was about to scratch a camera to go behind the pilots seat until I remembered that I have the Airfix RAF personnel set, so I've dug that out and am detaching a camera from the erks hands to put in.

Oh blinking flip!
Went to my LMS at lunchtime to get another Italeri 'stang and they're closed for 2 weeks!
Falling back on Plan B, I go to a Railway model shop where I saw a 'stang kit about a month ago......you've guessed it! they've not got it any more

Cheers David.
Nearly there, a bit more weathering, the starboard codes and the wee fiddly bits to go.

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Very nice! It makes a change to see a Mustang in different colours.
