This has slightly fallen on its arse!

The instrument panel decal would not stay stuck, so I've had to remove it and start again.

The engine is slowly being painted, although if I had made my mind up on fitting it to begin with, it wouldn't look half as bad as it currently does!

Oh well, c'est la vie!

I've some other Spits to keep me busy in the Blitzbau while I try not to go mental over this one....!

I did when I came home (although that was nothing model related - it was down to an excess of driving morons!)

Hmm....

Somehow I've lost all the photos of this build from my memory card!

OK, chaps, I've had to stall this one even further now, as someone wants me to build a kit for them.

Funnily enough, it's turned out to be a 1/32 scale Spitfire....!

OK, so I've got back on this one with a vengeance. Pics will follow when I find the camera.

Cockpit parts are done and going into the fuselage halves.

I've decided against fitting the engine, as I really don't want to fight with cowlings and things.

Propeller parts are being painted and assembled.

Getting there. Eventually!

You haven't glued the camera inside the fuselage have you?!!
Best wishes

Thankfully not. I forgot I had it in my rucksack for photographing cats over the weekend!

So far:

The observant among you will have noticed that I've already glued the side cowlings on. I feel this gives a bit of extra strength to the area while it is being handled.

The seat straps are done in the same fashion as the straps I made for the 1/32 version, although I've attempted to add a little extra detail to them. It looks OK providing you don't look too closely!

Cockpit progress:

I'm going to paint that area between the instrument panel and the firewall, although I don't imagine it'll be visible once the fuselage has gone together.

OK, so while I was going great guns yesterday, I managed to get the fuselage joined together. I then made up the Vokes filter for putting on to the front end later on.

It didn't dawn on me until a wee while afterwards that the fuselage halves still had the lower parts of the engine cowlings attached - and that these should be removed prior to the filter going on!

The Vokes filter now won't fit under the fuselage properly as a result. Which means I might need to do some minor/major surgery to the fuselage to get it attached.

While I think on the problem of the Vokes filter, I started making up the wings:

I haven't fitted the ammunition blisters for the cannon yet, but that will be next.

I decided to attach the wings to the fuselage, because while there is some work to be done to them, I feel that the centre section is a bit too fragile (it bends awful easy!) to work on with it separate from the rest.

Plus, it makes it look more like a Spit!
