Cheers.

I started putting the squadron codes on last night, but the bloody things broke up as soon as you looked at them! I got them on, however, so the next thing is to paint them the right colour.

Methinks, though, that I should paint the serial numbers on, rather than try to adapt the numbers from the decal sheet!

The codes are almost done, and the serial number is next. I'm also attempting to hand-paint the scoreboard on the fuel tank cover. Should be fun...!

A coat or two of decal film should prevent the decals from breaking up. I had that problem before I invested in a bottle. The only rub is that you have to trim the decals quite close before wetting and applying them. And if handpainting several tiny Balkan crosses does not appeal to you, I have several 1:72 scale German armour crosses that may be the right size that I can send you in the post.

Thanks for the offer. I would need a lot of them, and they are really small, even at this scale!

How many? 18? I will root around my decal stash and see how many I can cobble up for you should you decide you need them.

I think I counted 21 on the colour profile I looked at in the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces book.

If you have that many, and can spare them, I would sure appreciate the offer!

Okay, I have dug them out of the decal stash, and while it seems I have enough for you I am not certain they are suitable. They are in a couple of different styles and average 1/8" by 1/8" so it is hard to say if they would be a ballpark correct size. If you want them I will bung them in the post come Monday.

Cool. I think many of them can be trimmed to match the smallest ones. I have already basted them in decal film so they ought to behave themselves when applied.

Thanks to Nick's generosity, the small crosses arrived and have been applied. Well, most of them have, as I managed to drop a couple on the floor and the carpet monster got them. Sorry, Nick!

I'm attempting to paint the serial number on, so she is getting there!
