Not much to report, slowing down on this one. However I did get the rear canopy and the windscreen on last night, as well as the cannon barrels. Painting has been done on the scraped and sanded bits shown earlier. Radio mast is on and has a bit of cotton on ready to attach to the tail. Off from my morning job next week so should get more done on this one!!.

Lots of decals on last night and today. Looks good even if I do say so myself. The item under the yellow tape on the tail is the radio wire post. It has been glued on twice with poly cement and once with superglue and I still knocked it off so it can wait until it's the last thing to do!!.

The other side is the same except for the Donald Duck marking and the kill marks. I think the tail band is too wide and I'm waiting for the paint to dry so I can paint over it!!.

Rather well-decorated for an RAF machine, not just the usual codes & serials -- looks good !

Thanks chaps. It's an old kit but now that it's at this stage and looking nice, it's been worth the gaps and flash!. Hopefully get the top done today or tomorrow and then the underside. The good thing is the stencils are quite big in this scale so even I'm going to put them on!.

She's almost done, varnishing in matt to get rid of the gloss used for decaling, still finding shiny bits!. Aerial reattached, just a few small gaps in the windscreen to PVA and paint and then....

Just seen yours, it looks really good. Don't put yourself down, that's my thing (putting myself down not you!!). Anway, I'm finished too, can't be doing with anymore varnishing or gluing the aerial post on for the umpteenth time.

Thank you Sir!. It's an old kit and there was a lot of flash on the smaller parts but it's come out quite nicely.

Nice job Mark, having had a brief look inside the box if this in my stash you look to have worked wonders to knock it into shape
Best wishes

Thanks Iggie. It does have some drawbacks, there were small gaps in the wing root rear edge (maybe my doing?!), the gun covers on the wing tops are obviously meant to be left off, the right wing ones fitted perfectly though, the left took some sanding!. The canopy seemed to have a gap or two around the windscreen, and the legs are too long at the top to allow them to be a working feature and move up and down. Oh and the engine is a very tight fit, it needed sanding to get it into the nose. The engine and nose frames are also not very strong.
Otherwise it's a good kit and the decals were well behaved
P.S. I would also watch the interior on the wing as far as the guns and cannon as there are some parts (the cannon ammo boxes, that don't fit if the covers are glued shut/on. Another feature to be seen if you model it wheels down and sitting on the ground with the panels off.
In short: Worth a little bit or work!!. Have a go!.

Great finish, Mark.

I managed to get my undercarriage to work, even though the legs are too long. Mind you, since they'll be down anyway, it's not a problem!
