Thanks for the kind words!

@Toby: The engine panels were only placed, not glued as I aim (one day) to make this into a diorama :shock:

@GF: I tend to agree about the Humbrol acrylics, but although I'll not bother spraying with them any more they still have a use for brushing, especially for detail work and cockpits etc. I have converted to AK Interactive for spraying; excellent paints :grin:

And here we are as of this evening; decals on, painting largely complete, and some rigging in place. I've used (incorrectly no doubt) Gaspatch turnbuckles, and elastic rigging line. A few more to add then paint black and a matt varnish all over and we'll be done! 8-) (and I've just noticed a wrinkle in one line that'll need redoing :evil: )

Calling this one done now. Due to work, this has taken a lot longer than I'd have liked; it became difficult to get motivated each time after a longish gap in-between build sessions.
Although I'm reasonably pleased with the finish, I know full well it could be better.....

I think you have done an excellent job on it iggie, I know what you mean about motivation though as I have the same issues with my build at the moment.

Mark

Cheers Mark!
I hope you get your motivation back soon. I'm going to do a quick 1/72 Airfix new tool as a pick me up to get me going again :-D

Wow. What a great build. Buy that man a drink.

Seconded. Two drinks, in fact. Lovely job. Never come across Gaspatch before. Do you have any idea how much money you end up costing me, Iggie?

Hah! You won't believe this, but Gaspatch are based in Kallithea, which is about 2 miles from Piraeus, which is where I'll be the week after next. Bizarre coincidence or what?

That's a pretty amazing coincidence Kevan! :shock:
I'm not entirely sure that the 'cost' issue is all one way as I seem to recall one or two of your builds resulting in me running to eBay before now :ha: :grin:

And anyway, it was Toby who made me look at their stuff to its his fault really :-D

Cheers all; I'd recommend this kit to all as a great start to large scale modelling as the build is fairly straightforward but it makes into a very appealing model without too much difficulty

Which turnbuckles did you use? Type A seem the most useful, but what was your experience? Just asking because well, you know.......

They were type B; they come on a long stem that can be glued into deep recesses, or they can be cut shorter for places where there is not so much depth...getting the angle right before gluing them into place can be tricky! :shock:

@gbrwn56: Thanks for the praise!
