Hi all
I am in with a Trumpeter Hurricane IID
Sorry for the late post just finished my set of shifts.
This kit has been in my stash for a while the parts look great, I think this is one of Trumpeters better kits. I've only ever seen one built up and that was at the nationals last year. I am also a hairy stick modeller so painting it could get interesting
Sprue shots to follow and I am hoping to start the build this weekend

Wow - great choice Colin - my favourite mark and colour scheme for the Hurricane, superb large scale, and Trumpeter, one of my fav manufacturers because of the number of large scale planes they do. Really looking forward to your build!
Cheers

This will be interesting to watch; looking forward to seeing your build progress
Best wishes

Good choice, looking forward to it.
Don't worry about a "late start" -- the GB is designed to be leisurely to account for just these sort of circumstances.

30 days gone, 60 to go -- plenty of time -- is there any progress ?

Hi all finally in apposition to start
No1 daughter has decided to live at home and commute rather than move into halls of residence at her university so I have lost my man cave for her to study in
Any way here is the kit

I've finally managed to get the Hurricane build started and at the moment I am really enjoying it. I have assembled and painted the engine and cockpit sub unit and some of the smaller sub assemblies such as the wing fuel tanks and cannon units I am hoping to get fuselage together today and fit the wings tomorrow.
Engine and cockpit
Progress to date with fuselage ready to go together and some of sub assemblies such as the cannons
The image quality isn't great as I have had to use my phone camera I am a serial brush painter so the final paint job will be challenging to say the least
This is a good kit with very little fettling required to get the parts together, however, I don't think its the quantum leap forward over the Airfix kit that I expected I think in some areas the older kit is better (it has Rolls Royce embossed on the engine covers and all engine panels can be left off) but still a really enjoyable build
