Tim's Racy 109 **Finished**

Post by TimJ »

For my Blitz I'll be building a Heller Bf-109K with a bit of a twist as it will be wearing the markings of a pre war racing Bf-108.

Box and sprues.

The decal sheet. I'll be using the same blue colour scheme although I might add a red spinner to match the tail band.

Even after using one set of markings on the 109 I'll still have a couple of options for the 108 I have in the stash.

Love the Heller 109's. Great blitz fodder.

One hour in and the cockpit interior is done apart from a bit of detail painting.

The wings have been assembled and the wheel wells boxed in.

More in the next update.

Good start Tim. I haven't seen that Heller kit before - I love the box art picture. Obviously an older kit with swastikas on the tail so I assume you have them on the kit decal sheet as well? Are there any on the Techmod sheet for the 108 schemes as well?
Feel free to answer after your build by the way Tim, I know time is precious once the build is under way!

Cheers
Al.

AFAIR the Techmod sheet has the swastikas but in multi-part.

Two hours in, the cockpit interior has been fitted and the nose an tail have had a coat of red.

The prop has been painted and assembled too.

Next step is to put it all together.

Looks a nice little kit; and nicely done so far too!
Best wishes

It is a nice kit Iggie. Four hours in the airframe is complete and the first round of filling and sanding carried out.

The kit itself didn't need much filler but the filler on the gun troughs will need another round.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

Six hours in and the areas of filler have been sanded down and primed. Once that's dry it'll be time for paint.

The only assembly left is the undercarriage, everything else is paint.

The first coat of blue is on but as I'm charging my camera battery t the moment there are no pics. To make up for that, here's some music. :)
