Re: Tim's Racy 109 *Underway*

With the camera battery charged its time for another update. The blue paint is almost dry to the touch (gloss enamels) and the red areas have been given a second coat. The undercarriage has also been fitted.

I should get another coat of blue on before I go to bed so that it'll have chance to dry overnight. I'm thinking of replacing the swastika on the tail with the white disc showing the racing number.

Last update for this evening. The second coat of blue has gone on and the model looks a lot better for it. The nose and tail have had another coat of red too.

The paint should be dry by morning when it'll be time to add the rest of the parts and the decals. That's all for now, see you in the morning.

The decals are all on so all that's left to do is to add the last few parts, do some touching up of the paintwork and she'll be finished.

That looks so good Tim, Bravo mate. Great idea to put the racing number in the white circle. Brilliant - may well have to steal your idea for the racing colours on a 109 (if I can get the decals in 1/48 or even 1/32 that is!).

Cheers
Al.

Thanks Al, I'm pleased how nice it's turned out. :)

Three quarters of an hour to go and I'm calling this finished. I left the canopy open as it was a tight fit and I didn't want to mess it up at this late stage. A very nice kit which went together well with hardly any filler needed.

Another successful Blitz and an enjoyable build. I'll probably be fitting something else in later this week.

Very nice Tim; the colours suit it well, and the civilian markings make it very different to the usual 109s
Best wishes

Nice, the unframed canopy on that mark makes it look more racy.
