Daz's Maltese Falcon - **FINISHED**

Post by DazDaMan »

OK, so I'll be doing my second choice for this Blitz.

Gotta love this kit - and I've built more of them than I can remember!

I'll be building this one as one of the aircraft used in the film Malta Story (hence the thread title!), which is one of my favourite war films.

I'll be raiding the spares box for the decals. Luckily there's no serial numbers to faff about with, as these were all painted over prior to filming! :)

Sorry for the tough morning. Can't wait to see it. Just watched The Malta Story again a few months ago.

That is a great kit. But I bet you knew that. :ha:

So we kicked off with the usual innards-painting:

While that lot dried, I set to work on the wings:

While the wings were put to one side to set, I threw some glue on the cockpit parts:

The started to shove them into the fuselage:

Fuselage closed up:

(Apologies for the crap photo quality - it's quicker to upload from my phone, but the quality doesn't seem to be as sharp as the digi-camera!)

A little more than an hour in, and it's starting to resemble a Spit:

The observant among you will have noticed the T-shirt I'm wearing is this awesome number:

(I have nothing to do with the pricetag on this!!)

The 18th of August was, of course, the hardest day of the Battle of Britain, with heavy losses on both sides.
