Tim's Tiger **Finished**

Post by TimJ »

Next up on my Blitz list is this old timer from Airfix. :)

Image

With no interior to bother with and acrylic paint to hand this should be finished with plenty of time to spare.

One hour in and the upper and lower hull have been assembled, along with the turret.

Image

Going together well so far and the fit is better than I was expecting too.

If you thought the Lulu track was old, how's about this. :)

Good work so far. Lulu takes me back
. I built the Tiger a couple of years ago and liked it a bunch. Pity no bustle for the turret. But after the blitz you could add one.

Yes it is, it seems that most Tigers had them.

The hull and turret are at the filling and sanding stage. Fortunately it doesn't need a lot.

Meanwhile the wheels have been given a coat of primer.

Image

As the wheels are what this Tiger travels on, I thought this would be suitable.

Five hours in and apart from the tyres the wheels have been painted.

Image

Meanwhile the hull and turret are primed so the next time you see them they should be painted too. :)

Image

I'll have to get the tracks ready for fitting as I think I might be needing them soon.

The hull and turret have had their first coat of paint and a couple of rows of wheels have been fitted.

''Eye of the Tiger'' will be making an appearance but for now, here's a bit of Abba.

You've already done better than I did building the Airfix Tiger; and it took me days to get to this stage, before losing my patience and binning it
Best wishes

I haven't had any problems with so far, although I haven't got to the tracks yet.

The rest of the wheels are on (apart from one that's fallen on the floor) and the tracks have been stuck together.

Image

Time to add the camo.

I know you've been expecting this one, so here it is.

Eleven hours in and the camouflage is on. Not exactly as the instructions but close enough.

Just the tracks and decals to do now. :)

The tracks are on, so I just need to find the missing wheel and apply the decals to finish it. I have added some front and rear mudguards/fenders from plastic card as it seems that most Tigers had these fitted

The next update should see it finished.

It has been interested looking for all the songs with Tiger in the title, while some of them were pretty obvious some were a bit more obscure, like this one.
