OT's Impromptu Blitz *** Finished ***
Stuck at home today with Mrs OT not feeling too well. So I have decided to do a blitz build as its that time of year again.
As I have not planned anything I thought I would build something from the stash that I have paints for. So this is what I chose:
Well, it would be rude not to wouldn't it and we've not had many Spitfires on here lately.
The box contents.
This will definately be an OOB build and I am leaning towards this scheme, something a bit different:
The underside colour looks more like PRU blue than the Azure blue listed. I'll see what I have in the paint drawer.
Hope some of you can join me later.

A good choice.
AFAIR, on mine the rudder stripes decal didn't fit too well, much too big.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Ooo, this looks fun, I'll be watching with interest. I love the Mk IX kit.

Good choice. This will be good.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

My favourite of the new-tool Airfix kits!
Shame I don't have one in the stash to do!

Just about ready for the off:
Looks like this will have to be 2x 12 hour sessions as I have family things on the go tomorrow.
Going to the local shop now for a few goodies to keep me going into the early hours.
Photobucket already playing up!

If you're on Facebook, you should do what I do and use the albums on there to hold your model pics.

Not a fan of Farcebook. Too much trivia and only one lifetime on the planet!.
I'm actually following the instructions on this one. I think I'm unwell.
Started by applying Humbrol 78 to the interior parts.
Watching Firefly episode 1. Have the whole series to watch, great stuff.

Cheers Beany. Nice kit so far. Mr Airfix has saved me a lot of time by not including a cockpit so nothing to detail.
The seat is so unlike a Spitfire seat that I didn't see it earlier!
It will get painted in the second round of painting.
This is where I am up to despite a few family distractions.
Should get the fuselage closed up soon. Just about to klear coat the canopy.

Looking like a Spitfire now.
I had forgotten how good Firefly was.
