Mav's Boeing Joint Strike Fighter ***Finished***

Post by IronMan129 »

So here is the Harrier's "intended replacement" literally!
Its the 1/72 Italeri Boeing X-32 Joint Strike Fighter or as the family call it "The Frog Jet".
Looks a really really nice kit, Italeri never fail to satisfy!
Starting with the kit overview:

Only a small bit of progress has been made since 17:30 but I am on it now after tea so a pic will be posted shortly.

As promised here is the first progress update a couple of hours late!

I've glued on what I'm assuming is another air intake on the left side of the fuselage and the engine fan to the bottom half of the main air intake or the "Frog's Mouth" and cut and sanded a few other parts.

Good progress, and the first one of these I've seen built so will be interested to see how you get on with it!
Best wishes

Had a major paint bubble problem on the right inner tail section tonight so I'm going to rectify the problem in the morning as the paint is too soft to do anything g with at the moment.
Anyone have any advice on fixing paint bubbles and runs?

Hi Mav. Any luck with the paint bubbling issue? Maybe post a picture and we can help sort it out.

Thanks folks, Jssel I think the problem was the paint can I was using, fine until the last minute then it decided to mess up.
There's loads of tiny bubbles on the paint surface but I have lightly sanded it down and when I get home I'm going to use a buffer tool to smoothen the surface.
I'm going to use the other can I have and throw the old one away for the final coat.

No progress since the little bit of sanding I did this morning but our street is being resurfaced and we can't park on it so we have to go out all day so I don't think this one will get done in time I'm afraid folks!

Peeps ~ I put it to you, if there is no objection, Mav can deduct the time forced away from home from his timetable for this. This is a problem out of his control. [I'd do the same for anyone.]
Anyone object to this?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Agreed as well. Forces beyond his control. Besides, I want to see this one done.
