General Rockets F4U-X(wing) >> Finished <<

A Whiffery GB for any type of model. Simple decal changes, mild surgery or major. But all must have a story to back it up, no matter how silly or unbelievable.
The GB runs from 15 Sep through 16 Oct, and your host is FredK.

Hmmm, do you have a sketch of what you are going to do ?
I was thinking the bottom wing would stay in the inverted gull and then the top wing would be a "gull" (like the PZL-11). That wouldn't be a true X like it looks you are doing. Where does the landing gear go, if there even is any ?

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Excellent!

I suspect the undercarriage is going to have to be interesting to say the least!
Best wishes

I am building it purely to the day dream and the image inside my head.
The bottom wing will remain inverted, and the top, the correct way up.
I did do a couple of rough sketches to try wing configuration, and to see if it works.
It did on paper, but will it work in plastic?
I did envisage the wings folding into a bi-plane for landing. I am building it in flight, so no need to worry about landing gear.

The mount for the top wing, I just cut down to match the profile of the slot to mount the bottom wing.

Fruit salad...............now theres an idea.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

The top of what is now the fuselage front has been made from the lower part of the spare rear fuselage. It has been cut, shaped, filed, filled and sanded repeatedly until I was satisfied.

Good Lord! That's impressive! :-D
Still think the undercarriage would be very complicated so it's a good thing you are modelling it in flight
Best wishes
