Shape looks excellent, like something that could have flown and not just made up ;-)

Thanks, gentlemen.

No progress today. Stymied by the canopy. I feel the Hunter one is too upright but haven't worked out an alternative yet.

OK, after lots of messing about, it looks like I will be able to make this work to make a more sloped windscreen than the Hunter had. It needs a bit more fettling but

It's the back half of the canopy of the old Airfix Typhoon.

Kind of sweet that it's from another Hawker design!

OK, back at work on this after three days lost to preparing for, watching it pass, and then cleaning up after, Hurricane Matthew.

I just used the Frog pilot but replaced the ejection seat with a spare resin one and I added a radar scope on the top of the instrument panel for the air to air radar.

Canopy on but will need a bit of filling along the joint between the top and the windscreen. Tailplanes are standard Hunter but, for my Huntress backstory, they are the all-moving slab type. Pitot and exhaust are brass. Pylons are Frog Hunter but with rails for missiles. I decided she would only carry two cannons so I drilled out those ports and added the Sabrinas.

I'm not happy with some of the filling - there's still a few rough spots but I think I'll mask the canopy then shoot the whole thing with primer and see how she looks.

As to colours and markings - I think she will have to be from one of the squadrons that got Lightnings in the early 60s and use one of their serials. I'll see what I've got in the spare decals box(es).

Overall this is looking like a very mean Huntress. Cool.

Don't know if it was the black plastic but those Hunter Sabrinas didn't look right to me for the faster Huntress.

Now she has nice sleek supersonic Sabrinas (drop tank halves from the old Skyhawk that donated the fin).
