AXHei **Finished**

Post by celt »

The Japanese purchased three He 100 D-0s for 1.2 million RM, as well as a license for production and a set of jigs for another 1.6 million RM. The three D-Os arrived in Japan in May 1940 and were reassembled at Kasumigaura. They were then delivered to the Japanese Naval Air Force, where they were renamed AXHei, for Experimental Heinkel Fighter. When referring to the German design, the aircraft is called both the He100 and He113, with at least one set of plans bearing the latter name. In tests, the Navy were so impressed that they planned to put the aircraft into full production as soon as possible, as their land based interceptor. Hitachi won the contract for the aircraft and started construction of a factory in Chiba, for its production. With the war in full swing in Europe however, the jigs and plans never arrived.BUT WHAT IF THEY DID...

I will be using the Lindberg kit I purchased from Home Bargains for £1.99 for this together with some spare Japanese decals.

Good one. I built an old Lindberg Do335 many moons ago. Should be a fun build.

I've never bought or seen a Lindberg kit first hand so will be interested to see how this goes!
Best wishes

I think its a lovely little kit of a subject ignored.
I'd like to get another and this time cut out the windows behind the pilot.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

The parts are out of the clamps and I have cut a piece of wet and dry to cover the see through area in the air filter thingy. :???:

All the main parts are now clamped together. The carpet monster devoured one of the undercarriage legs,so now its a wheels up model, good thing it came with a stand.

I have several of these nice little kits. Makes sense now why the Kawasaki Ki 61 looks so familiar.

I was just thinking that ,when looking at Japanese aircraft for a realistic colour scheme. :)

I built that kit when it first came out. Still have the remains in my spares box. Like your story line . Seems very plausible.
