Don't know if this spot of info's any use to you, but when I was researching Spanish Civil War colour schemes, it was suggested that the light grey used by the Legion Condor was RLM02, a shade we tend to associate with aircraft interiors.

OK, so I finally made a start to the '109 build this evening.

Here's the bunch of bits:

First thing I did was paint the interior and, while that dried, I also assembled the wings:

Yeah, it's a neat wee kit. No real issues with it to speak of, although I imagine the undercarriage will cause me a few headaches (they look about as strong as the Heller Spit XVI's gear!).

Second coat of greenish-grey went on earlier, so will set to work on the splinter pattern tomorrow.

OK, so I've finished the camo and have started putting the decals on, but came up with a problem.

The shark-mouth disintegrated! I mean, totally broke up. The rest of the decals went on fine, but that gorgeous shark-mouth is a goner.

Looks like I'm gonna have to paint the damn thing....

That's a bummer Daz.

The camo is looking very nice though. I love these early 109's.
Is that a Spitfire I spy in the background?

It is indeed, only it's a scrap job.

There are, however, two new ones on the desk!
