Daz's First of the Few - **DONE!!!**

Post by DazDaMan »

My second offering is, of course, a Spitfire, and it will be this one:

Image

As you might have guessed from the thread title, I'll be doing it as K5054, but I'll be choosing the easy way out and doing it in its camouflage scheme, which it wore prior to being written off in a crash at Farnborough on 4th September 1939, the day after the Second World War broke out.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I'll get on this one next week. I'm currently reveling in building a '109 for a nice change! ;-)

OK, so, I lied, and I decided to break the kit out of its box a bit earlier than planned!

I've built a few of these in the past, and don''t foresee many problems with it.

The only mod (so far!) to this one has been the radiator:
Image

On the prototype, the radiator extended up to the undercarriage bay, and followed the angle of it. I did think about leaving this off, but I just knew someone would spot that minor discrepancy! The mod was done by bunging loads of filler onto the existing radiator and sanding it to shape. A bit of paint on and it should look OK!

Are you REALLY building one Spit after another or is it just the same one, with the picture re-used? :ha: :ha: :ha: :ha:
