Chuck's 'First of Many', Messerchmitt Bf 109 V1 *Finished*
My second build will be the prototype Messerchmitt Bf-109 V! by MPM in 1/72. Nothing like a Bf-109 with a Rolls Royce engine. In this case a Rolls Royce Kestrel V and painted as she appeared in the Summer of 1935
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Not a subject I've often seen modeled. Looking forward to it!

I just primed the resin parts. This is an upgraded kit by MPM. They provided resin landing gear, wheels, cockpit so it's time to first prime the resin. Next up, painting the RLM02 in the cockpit.

Basic build is finished and ready for the first coat of RLM 63 after some final sanding. I borrowed the canopy from a Hasegawa Me-109 E4/7 that included an extra. Fit was typical for an early generation MPM kit.

Messerchmitt Bf-109 V1, Summer of 1935
(Photographed the Airport module on my model railroad)
For a little 'Gee-Whiz" information: Both the First Bf-109 prototype and last Bf-109 variant flew with Rolls Royce engines. The Bf-109 V1 was powered by a Roll Royce Kestral engine and the Spanish built Hispano HA-1112 flew with a Rolls Royce Merlin.

Nice build!
Kind of ironic really isn't it that Rolls Royce had such a big part to play in the evolution this aircraft, and of so many of the best WWII fighters

Two great looking builds. I like the scheme for the first of many.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.
