We can wait. It's a little beauty and worth taking your time over, John.

Well, the cowl is "painted", not too bad and if I try to fix little things I'll probably make a mess so it might be done.
The rest of the decals are settling on ...

I do need to check the cowl once, then do a gloss coat overall, then add the photoetch rigging. Not sure all this will happen tomorrow for reasons previously stated, but it's closer to done than it ever has been :)

That's been a tempting option once a look in the bright of day showed the cowl and fuselage stripes don't align as well as I thought. I am beginning to think there is something about the cowl decals that I do not understand and that annoys me as I have several kits and decals to do a number of these -- and I ruined my preferred scheme. Camera angle can cover some of it. I think I'll hit it with gloss tomorrow and see how it looks and react accordingly.

It is painted. It is gloss-coated (Future). The only piece not stuck on is the windscreen.

Tomorrow I do that and the PE rigging.

I have two pix but my FTP server seems to be down - hopefully that is fixed by tomorrow evening when I should be done.

Finished, pix done, FTP is back ! I'll skip the two almost finished pix that I couldn't upload and go right to the final.

Photo-etch rigging is pretty easy except between the wheels where the two pieces are slotted to fit together but my fingers weren't doing it so the two pieces are just glued in there. I've already detailed the problems with the cowl decal. I views are carefully chosen to show the best angle for the cowl and fuselage stripe to flare nicely.

There's more I could have done, like a wash to set off the ailerons and elevators - might go back and do so.

Main colors were the old Polly Scale stuff - just great, but gone forever. I used Vallejo to try and match with the decals. Whether the yellow of the stripes is supposed to be different than the wing yellow I don't know ....

This should have gone better, too many things got in the way. I do recommend the kit and the Starfighter decals and aftermarket.

Great GB.
