Re: Kit's Suez Centurion (Ace #72426)
Bit more done
Parts for the turret baskets
Constructed and in place
Running gear in place now, touch up painting to do
Two part tracks to construct, the joining area is about 1mm. Going to be fun but reports say they react favourably to CA, we'll see
small PE fret for details. The row of 8 parts at the bottom are the commanders periscopes. Oh joy
Periscopes in place
Thanks for looking

That's looking very smart that - I hope all goes well with the tracks!
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

Re: Kit's Suez Centurion (Ace #72426)
Thanks guys
Sir T :- The tracks behaved impeccably with the CA, the small contact area being more than adequate for the job. Top marks to Ace for that.
Turret construction completed now. Grenade launchers were fiddly but really look the part once done. They had a couple of sink marks on the back but easily sorted with a swipe of Perfect Plastic.
Attention now turns to the main hull and the myriad of small bits that have to be added. This is how it stands at the moment
Thanks for looking

Glad to hear they behaved - they certainly look good, as does the rest of the build!

That is a nice desert colour you are using. What is it exactly?

Humbrol acrylic 93, makes a nice base to work up fromgnomemeansgnome wrote:That is a nice desert colour you are using. What is it exactly?
Few more bits added, just tools, tow cables and spare track to add now
Looking at pictures of Suez Centurions it seems they had the extended sand guards front and rear. Not included in the kit so had to make them.
There was also a horizontal plate joining the front guard/flap? to the leading edge of the side skirts but the tank I am modelling doesn't have them in the images I have seen.
More touch up painting and equipment painting now
Thanks for looking

The Centurion looks so good you'd forget it was an Ace kit!

It certainly looks superb although I have no knowledge of Ace kits so will reserve judgement on that score
Best wishes

Looking great. That PE set looks tiny but effective.
