I can only assume that the person who decided to paint yellow and black stripes on the Musketeer aircraft had a grudge against modellers.

My black paint seeped under the masking tape. I tried to touch it up with a brush, with the inevitable outcome. Oh well, I'll have another go over the weekend.

Rockets & bomb are partly painted now, but several rocket tails fell off as I handled them. Grrrr.

Weapons on, airscrew(s) on, stripes tidied up. Decaling tomorrow, then a bit of weathering methinks.

Decals went on without any issues, then a light oil wash in the panel lines to give depth, then a satin top coat and she's finished!

I used Krystal Klear in the camera ports- although it looks totally transparent in these pictures, it is still a little cloudy in real life, but a much better fit than the awkward (too large?)kit parts.

Pictures are always a little difficult at this time of year - these are indoors under artificial light - better ones next weekend if its sunny!

A couple of better pictures are now in the completion gallery.

The panel lines are a little lighter than I would have wished for some of the panel lines, especially on the fuselage, but otherwise I am really pleased with this one.

Perhaps another is needed, but with folded wings next time.

Quite a beast! Lovely non-the-less and very well executed indeed.

That's a cracking build Fred, and building the same kit as you I know how much effort went into such a good result!
PS how did you do the white lining around the cockpit canopy?!
Best wishes

Thanks Iggie,

Interestingly I find that the results of my modelling are inversely proportional to the levle of stress at work, and its been a bad few weeks! The canopy is nothing more than a steady hand. I do the white/cream first, then the main colour around it.

Wow! Can I borrow that hand, please? Or can you at least offer lessons in how to get one? (Mind you, if it involves going teetotal, I don't want to know.)
