Any progress to share with us?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Re: Kit's Sea Meteor
Cockpit and engine internals painted and in place. Seat belts from tape as canopy is going to be closed.
Fuselage together. No filler on top, just sanding the seam and obliterating the fine panel lines.
Small amount of filler on the bottom. Knowing how bad a tail sitter the Meteor is, lots of lead sheet in place.
Tape on to re-scribe lines.
EE337 was unarmed so the gun ports were faired over. 1.5mm square stock in place ready to carve once set
Gently coaxing the wing halves to join.

Are you sure you've got enough nose weight in there?

Re: Kit's Sea Meteor
You Can Never Have Too Much Nose Weight Sounds like a "No Tail Draggers" GB
Anyway, something Meteor shaped on the bench now

Nice work.
I always thought the MkIII's were the best looking of the Meteor line up, the longer engines, nose proportions and tail styles ruined the looks on later Mk's

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: Kit's Sea Meteor
Thanks splash, and have to agree with you although there is something purposeful about the F8.
Anyway, back to the F3. Gun fairings blended in now and canopy on, masked with Tamiya vinyl tape and Mister R fluid.
Arrestor hook from 0.5mm brass wire and hinge fairings from plastic stock.
Starting work on undercarriage now.
A voyage into uncharted waters. Didn't have codes of the correct size and font in the decal stash so had to print my own. First time so fingers crossed. Still have to spray them to seal them but the ink seems sharp.

Looking great so far mate. I'm interested to see how your decal printing experiment goes. I had no luck stopping mine from running when soaked in water so I resorted to placing them paper side down on wet kitchen towel and allowing the water to leech through.

Thanks for the heads up mate, will try that if I have the same problemDazzled wrote:Looking great so far mate. I'm interested to see how your decal printing experiment goes. Quick squirt of grey primer to check her over, she'll do. Pitot added from Albion Alloys stock.
U/C made up and mounted for spraying, mudguard supports made from HSS. The brass rods the legs are mounted on are also for extra strength, especially on the nose gear. Arrestor wire deflectors added to nose bay door from 0.5mm brass wire, note no main gear doors for painting, they weren't fitted to EE337.
Off for a quick squirt of Vallejo Gloss Black Primer now

Re: Kit's Sea Meteor
First coat of Vallejo black has shown a couple of minor issues that a quick swipe with a sanding stick will fix. Will quickly rectify that then another coat of black.
