Kit's Sea Meteor ##Finished##

Celebrating the man who flew 487 different aircraft, more than any other pilot, and who could be the greatest pilot of all time. We cannot duplicate his feat but each modeler will build a unique aircraft replicating one flown by Captain Brown.
The GB runs 19 November to 18 December and your host is FredK.

Really nice. I'm beginning to love those Vallejo metallics. Thanks for the tip mate 8-)

Thanks.

Decals are on now. The home-made decals were a learning curve. Sealed with Vallejo Gloss Varnish and left for 48 hours to set. On the trial run the ink bled  . Re-sprayed with the gloss and allowed to set. On this trial run no bleed (success  ) then the decals broke up  So I decided to coat them with liquid gold, yes I had to use some of my dwindling stash of Klear (Future). Gave the sheet a good 4 coats to be sure. So she is now wearing her codes.

Next step is a coat of good old Flory and a wipe down then onto the dangly bits

Looks great, Kit. I may have to try Vallejo metallics.

Flory wash done and wiped off, couple of areas to touch up as the panel lines are a bit shallow in places

Disaster with one of the homemade decals while rubbing off the Flory wash. Don't understand it as the other 3 were fine. Have to clean this area up and redo it.

She's up on here gear now, no pics of that yet

Calling this one done. The problem with the decals turned out to be a blessing as I had put them on the wrong way round  Anyway here she is.

PS :- I know it's not the right carrier deck but it's the only one I have

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.
