OT's Asymmetric Wonder *** Finished ***

Celebrating the man who flew 487 different aircraft, more than any other pilot, and who could be the greatest pilot of all time. We cannot duplicate his feat but each modeler will build a unique aircraft replicating one flown by Captain Brown.
The GB runs 19 November to 18 December and your host is FredK.

Accurate or not it's certainly convincing enough. Definitely going to be worth seeing when it's done

Got to agree. The extra detail certainly adds realism.

Thanks chaps.

Just a quick update today. Time has been sparse on the bench of late but I have managed to complete the main building work and got some paint on.

I gave the whole thing a coat of aluminium before the camo went on. I am hoping a very light sanding will reveal that and give the aircraft the worn look that Winkle refers to. We shall see! :???:

I'd not use sanding to reveal the aluminium, but a cloth dampened in paint thinners to wipe the top coats off.

Was playing with decals for canopy framing last night.

Nice work on the framing. Are you still hoping to have a standing Winkle?

No. This one will be in flight.
