Thanks chaps.
Just a quick update today. Time has been sparse on the bench of late but I have managed to complete the main building work and got some paint on.
I gave the whole thing a coat of aluminium before the camo went on. I am hoping a very light sanding will reveal that and give the aircraft the worn look that Winkle refers to. We shall see!

I'd not use sanding to reveal the aluminium, but a cloth dampened in paint thinners to wipe the top coats off.
