Here's the kit. Plastic is dark grey and seems a little thick but it's not too bad. Props underway.

Sorry, no pics today, photobucket is being incredibly slow and useless. Might be my computer but it normally gets going. I've been sitting here trying to get it sorted since 1pm!!.

The Alcedo Atthis I'm building was based on her. I'm pretty certain of that

Cool. There are two aircraft in the kit, on rails, one goes on the third turret (at the rear) and the other is on the aft deck. Pretty sure they're what your building!.

For some reason, I had a mental picture of a battleship sized kingfisher.....instead of one that flew from a battleship. It's been a long day, 'Nurse, where are my tablets?'
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Please see my Zuikaku build latest post for the no pics reason here. The Arizona is all but complete and just needs props and little boats painted.

Hoo-bloomin-ray. Another hour on pb and looking around here and here is a picture!!. I've resorted to using my little compact camera. Although the SLR my dad gave me is way better I don't have to mess about with picture sizes. It can be set to less than the permitted 800 x something size and straight onto PB and then here. Better pictures soon.

Nice. Is that a replica of the memorial in front of the ship?

Thanks, yes it is my rather poor attempt to make a 1/700 scale memorial replica. I was considering getting another of the Arizona kits (it was less than £10) and building it as it is now. Not sure if I can do it or make a better memorial but it seemed worth a go.

That does look smart, and so does the attempt at the Memorial. Buy another and go for it! Is this kit not the same molding as the old Revell 720th scale Pennsylvania/Arizona kit? I have that one and it sure looks familiar.

I think I will give it a go, just have to get the brown right (or rust as it may be after 75 years in water)!. I don't have any experience of the Revell kit so can't help on that one. According to scalemates it was a brand new tooling in 2001.

Nice job Mark and kudos to you for working at such a small scale; I have trouble with 1/350 kits so your work is even better!
Best wishes

Thanks and thanks!!. I would like to be a 350 scale modeller but my finances dont't often allow it!. 700 is more affordable but a pain for tiny parts, escpecially considering my fingers are as wide/tik s a 72 scale spitfire fuselage!!!. (Acromegaly sufferer you see).
Of course tweezers help unless they are in 'ping' mode.
