I'm in with this lot:

I've built the Zero kit before, and it was a nice wee build that I thoroughly enjoyed, so I'm looking forward to doing the other two as well.

Hoping to take part with the Kingfisher but I may have to rethink my plans as lancfan is already doing one.

Toby, I already have two other builds for this so I can drop my Kingfisher if you want to build one.

I may have to pull out of this one. Just had a massive project dropped on me at work and it must be completed in time for the Xmas break so it looks like lots of late nights and weekend work for me. That won't leave me much time for plastic bodging I'm afraid.

I just bought the new Airfix 1/48 P-40B, which has Pearl Harbor decals! I'll be doing that kit in RAF desert markings, but I can use the PH decals on my Revell/Monogram kit. 8-)

Did you know there was a second crack at Pearl Harbour four month later?
On the basis of this excerpt lifted from Wikipedia:
"The H8K entered production in 1941 and first saw operational use on the night of 4 March 1942 in a second raid on Pearl Harbor. Since the target lay out of range for the flying boats, this audacious plan involved a refuelling by submarine at French Frigate Shoals, some 900 km (560 mi) north-west of Hawaii, en route. Two planes from the Yokohama Kōkūtai (Naval Air Corps)[8] attempted to bomb Pearl Harbor, but, due to poor visibility, did not accomplish any significant damage."
I'd like to do the FROG Emily I got in the kit swap at Telford two years ago for only £6 as the body parts were banana shaped (they're not supposed to be!!)

Does that sound acceptable for this GB please or is it purely for participants in the December attack?

Cheers
Al.

Al, that is a separate and later event and can't be a part of the December 7 attack (the "Day of infamy") we are remembering here so no, please pick something else.

Well, The Road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions..... ;-) I started my RM 1/48 P-40B this morning. My intent was to try and keep as much of the fine raised detail as possible, given that I had no desire to re-scribe the kit. Unfortunately, the fit of the parts of this kit is truly horrendous - the wings are particularly bad, both to themselves and to the fuselage - and I lost too much detail sanding down the major seams that a complete re-scribe would be necessary to finish this kit to desirable standards. Coupled with poor detail, which I am not prepared to improve or scratch - I simple don't have the desire or time - I have binned the kit. I am simply not prepared to put the time and effort into that kit.

With the new Airfix kit available, the RM kit is now worthless, frankly, and I should have realized that before committing. I am saving my Airfix kit for RAF markings, and I don't have any other kits suitable for this GB, so I am retiring from the GB. :frown: Sorry, David.
