Daz's Hamp-er House of Horror - **DONE!**
OK, so I'm just going to throw this one into the mix as well.....
Never built any kind of Tamiya kit in my life before, so this will be something new!

Tamiya = Goodness.
Good luck. That box art is pretty retro.

Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale
Re: Daz's Hamp-er of Terror
I'll get some photos of the kit during the week.

No it won't. It will be something very old. According to scalemates, that's the original 1963 box you have there. Very definite CJK you have there.DazDaMan wrote:so this will be something new!

God, it's almost as old as my mum!
Would be a shame to build it, I guess, but the kit's literally out of the bag now.

And here's me thinking this was a more modern release in a retro box I didn't know that Tamiya even had a product line in 1963, I though they started in the late 60's - you learn something new every day on here
(Alas, unlike Daren's mum, I pre-date this kit by a couple of years!)

1963,thats older than me!!
Re: Daz's Hamp-er House of Horror
So I decided to make a start tonight, and I began with painting the interior and assembling the wings:
Unusually for a 1/72 model (in my experience, anyway), the Zero had separate flaps. I chose to model them closed, however, as I fancy mounting this one on a stand. The "in flight" look will enhance the shape of the aircraft, particularly the clipped wingtips, I reckon.
Fuselage, wings and tailplane assembled:
I need to source a pilot's seat from the spares box, however!

Are the panel lines raised or recessed Daren, it looks a nice kit whichever mind you!
Best wishes
