Great stuff Mav, this is coming on really well and I'm also looking forward to seeing this Iron Man scheme of yours!

Thanks guys!
One slight problem has occurred.
The paints I bought and relied on getting today haven't shown up!
So if this is not allowed this build will be continued in my Workbench.

Tough break with the paint not arriving on time.

But it does look good in black
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Argue your point, for an extension, in complete 24-hour blocks of non-activity until paint appears, and then resume.. Real life gets in the way sometimes ... and it has here

I've considered the time scale* of this; even being lenient with an extra 24hours added its still way too late on now. We could even have turned a 'blind eye' if Mav had got this done by lunchtime Thursday but we're now running into Friday

I think I'll have to say this a DNF-in-time.
We have allowed extensions in the past for sudden illness and even a power-outage due to a storm.
These were problems beyond the powers of the builder
But not having, or in this case deciding a change to, the necessary paints ready and available is a pre-planning error.

Mav can continue the build here, but can't put the finished model into the Gallery.

As I am just half the GBL we'll see what Jeff has to say

[* long Blitz is 36 hours maximum {12/12/12} = 15:31/06 - 03:31/08, extra 24 hours = to 03:31/09]
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

As much as I hate to be a hard arse about this I am pasting the segment of the rules that cover this.

-- Each participant is expected to complete a kit of their choice, to a standard of their choosing, in a 24-hour period, with periodic (hourly or so) photo updates. There is a 'senior' (or 'wuss') option that allows the 24-hours to be split into two roughly equal periods with not more than 12 hours, preferably less, between them. There are no exceptions, excuses, extensions.

And as a reminder: The key to a Blitzbau is Planning.
-- You can look at your model all you want to beforehand; the instructions, the parts, the painting & decaling.
-- Write down a simple plan, the kit instruction sequence may not be ideal for a Blitz format.
-- Ensure you have all the useable paint, the tools, the glues, the aftermarket you need -- before the clock starts.
-- The key is time management; everything counts. Don't forget that you have to make regular progress posts with pictures and interact with other folks blitzing at the same time.

So sorry but it would not be keeping with the true spirit of the Blitz.

Ok fairenough, Il be moving both my other planned builds over to my Workbench as I won't be able to complete them within 24 hours following the rules plus I can then get cracking on with the Matchbox GB.
Thanks again.
