My thoughts exactly. Maverick did one a few years back, and the result was enough to ensure that this bit of whiffery ended up in the same colours.

I'm beginning to take a serious interest in some of the schemes used in South East Asia; night intruders (at least Canberras and Phantoms) used the standard SEA camo, but over black instead of grey. The result is fairly close to the Bomber Command scheme, and doesn't require strolling off into whiff territory. I might just end up doing a Night Owl Phantom in the not too ridiculously distant future

Very nicely done Rob, an imaginative build that you have pulled off convincingly and it really does look good in that scheme.

To be honest, I can see that being done for real if ever we need to take out a few dams again! Where would you mount the spotlights for height control? :-D

Lovely build though, and the Tonka really suits the classic scheme
Best wishes

The paint scheme really changes the look of the F3 and it start looking like a Thunderchief. Great fun build!

Not likely. With the Tornado phased out, there'll be nothing left that could lug around an Upkeep, regardsless of how far the imagination will stretch. Typhoon, Hawk, and whatever they plan to call the F-35 in the UK haven't a chance. Maybe the Poseidons?
As for the spotlights, I was sort of hoping the low-level attack systems on a tornado could handle it. It is what the machines were designed for after all..

I agree that the scheme turn it into a completely different looking plane, but I was thinking more along the lines of a small F-111.
