Pleased that my efforts are inspiring you to want to tackle a few more kits.

Splash: I just painted the plastic with two very thin coats of some gone-off nearly all dried humbrol acrylic in a couple shades, and it has dried and does look very like light-wood. Surpassed myself with that one.. .

And just where do I buy this "gone-off nearly dried Humbrol acrylic"? :-D

Don't you just hate it when you get an excellent effect like that, that others might not be able to replicate.

Decals went on tonight, along with a selection of remaining little bits and pieces.

Tomorrow I need to consider a tad of dust and sand on wheels and tracks. Then the finish line on Friday

they are looking fantastic, seeing your work is giving me the itch to build more small scale AFV's.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and support. Today I present five of them, that I am calling done:

Where they came with figures in the kit, those have been used, and the others have all had a figure or two added from my odds and ends box. All these figures are hard plastic, and were not on bases, ie as if they were included with kits, rather than the soft plastic of figures on bases in boxes of just figures

The remaining two will be along in a day or two... these ones have all had sand and some light weathering and dust on them, but the camera has not picked much of it up...

Thank you everyone. Please tune in again later tonight, when the avre bridgelayer and comet will be revealed. I am just about to go and get in a tangle with a few feet of thread for the next hour or so and rig the bridgelayer.

Finish line for this GB is near; and the final 2 .....

A34 - Mk.1 Comet (built from Matchbox PK72 boxing)
seated figures on tank are from one of the many sets I have purchased from Dan Taylor modelworks. They are not specifically tank riders.

Churchill AVRE (built from Matchbox 40177 boxing)
figures are conversions from those included in the various Airfix Airfield Emergency/Refuelling type sets

Plus: a final shot with all 7 of my builds for this GB:

I set out a few weeks ago, with the intention of building 6 models, and painting up some figures that came out of Matchbox figure boxes (as opposed to ones that come with these military kits)
I have infact managed 7 builds, but the figures are only going to be started tomorrow, and I doubt, that not even I can get them done in a day ... so they will be a fail or a Did Not Start!

Thanks again to JohnR for the kits, (and I hope he thinks I have done them all justice!)
Some of these kits are planned for a CBK-SIG display later this year, so they will be on public show then.
